Backstory
My team covers a wide variety of duties across the Residential space for Lessen. We oversee Affiliate Sourcing, Affiliate Training, Affiliate relationships, proposal reviews, and WO execution. Over the last couple of years, we have strived to “simplify complexity” and really honed our focus points by department. That focus on the fundamentals has lifted us to a new level- and we are still nowhere near our potential.
Despite our varying duties in the process, we are a very tight-knit group with a phenomenal culture. While our high-level focus is providing the best client service delivery in the industry and we consistently set team records for performance, the team never misses an opportunity to celebrate each other whether it’s a birthday, a new baby, or a promotion. What is perhaps most striking about the group is that there are so many “leaders.” Ours is a remarkable team.
Lessens Learned
My family is almost a Chicago cliché. Immigrating from both Ireland and Germany, my lineage is stacked with teachers, firefighters, and police with a heavy load of tradesmen. Like most families, ours provided the foundation of who I became as a person, professional, and citizen. These values and background are formative to my work ethic and the care and consideration I give to our best-in-class network of affiliates. Appropriately, I worked my way through college painting. Post undergraduate and pre-Lessen, I spent time in the restaurant industry and the predominant part of my career in the contract food service and facility maintenance industries.
Collaboration, inclusion, and individual teammate development have always been hallmarks of my management style—a major factor in why Lessen’s “We all win together” culture is such a great fit. I am a stout believer in a servant leadership approach to management. As an operations leader for Lessen, I strive to make Lessen better every day whether driving efficiency, pushing our level of customer service to new heights, or optimizing organizational performance. With a career spanning over two decades, I take pride in creative solutioning to drive greater alignment and operational excellence. I am incredibly lucky in that I lead an amazing team of passionate, creative problem solvers—we aim to “drive meaningful change” every day. This is the most fun I have ever had in my career.
Outside of my professional commitments, I am a dedicated husband of 14 years and an adoring father of four. Every day, I wake up excited both to get to work and then later, to get back home. For so many reasons, I consider myself probably the fortunate person on earth.
